Maurizio Bianchi - A M.B. Iehn Tale

SmallVoices SVR04012

It seems only a few weeks since I wrote a review for the collaboration between Maurizio Bianchi and Land Use and again there is a CD from him in the mail! An active man he is, but is that a bad thing? No! As mr. Bianchi has been a musician for very long, he knows what he's doing. And it is definitly audible in his works.

The CD has eight tracks which are based on piano compositions of M.B. sonically treated by Sandro Kaiser, also known as the project 'Frequency in Cycles per Second'.

I've listened to the CD now several times and I like the music and treatment of the sounds. The piano-sounds actually sound like piano on only two tracks. The whole release breathes the atmosphere of early experimental music, what one could expect in the early days.

And there is the beauty of this release. Because it is not what you would expect. It's 'different' and with a reason. It will make you respect where it all comes from and who and why we should be greatful.
