15dbz - Under a morphine sky

Force of Nature FON07

Like the Icarus 15DBZ (which stands for 15 degrees below zero) found its foundation in the ashes of the now defunct IFAU (Imperial Floral Assault Unit - another one of those wickedly clever found project names). In both incarnations they've been around since may 2000 and released (including this CD) 7 titels.

The seven tracks on this album have been written in 2001 and 2002 and together they form a nice release for people who like ambient noise in its full and dual meaning. Because their music is based on "structured improvisations" as the website mentions every now and then it might sound a bit like it's not supposed to be, but that's all part of its charme and beauty.

Synths, guitars, samples, noise, feedback, vocals ... Ambient, drones, noise, rhythms, powerelectronics ... Subliminal messages, 'in your face'-confrontations, coherent storylines ... This CD has it all!

My personal favorite tracks are 'Watching' and 'Obsession'.

Good job guys!
