Toy Bizarre - kdi dctb 008 | 1996-2000

"My actual work is focused on "places", its characteristics and its sound components ... Each one of these pieces is the sonic reflection of the place."

This quite conceptual explanation of what Toy Bizarre is all about can be read on the Discogs.com page of the before mentioned artist. Cédric Peyronnet IS Toy Bizarre and his music should be labelled electroacoustics. This CD on Kokeshidisk has 8 tracks of which 2 were previously unreleased.

But ... Well ... Euhm ...

( wow )

This is good ... Really, really good ....

Sometimes when I listen to electro-acoustic music, there is absolutely no tension created by the sounds. This is mainly when the sound is recognizable, or constantly treated in the same way, or the same loop over and over.

The fabulous Toy Bizarre does not have these problems with his music. Each track is different and creates a different atmosphere, but none of the tracks gives in on the emotional luggage on how the particular place is being interpreted.

The CD is very dynamic in its production. The highs are very high, the lows are deep and rumbling and silent parts are carefully being replaced by louder crackling and sudden displacements in the sound.

'"kdi dctb 008 | 1996-2000" is a collection of forgotten & unreleased pieces of rural headphone electro(acoustro)nic music' is what the website says. I can only say it is beyond music; It's a work of auditive art.
