Drone Records
Recorded in Japan last year by Yui Onodera, the Synergetics 7" is based on the sounds of piano and guitars. On side A this source is kept a secret through the many very well done manipulations, while on the reverse side a minimal tune on the piano slithers through in the drone. A little bit like Sakamoto, but more melodic and coherent in nature.
The release is truly wonderful, pressed on white/blue marbled vinyl. But there is one small negative aspect, being that the tracks are quite short - or they at least seem to be short. And that's a shame, becaue JUST when you get in the mood, you have to switch sides again.
I wouldn't mind hearing a CD release from this artist. There is a very good chance the pieces would develop more and deeper if the medium would be different.
