Rugitus Æternam - Tædium Vitæ [[ ßΙΣ ]]

Deserted Factory

Mexican industrial technoid stuff. Not the music we get to hear every day in Europe (except for Hoicico and related projects). Rugitus Æternam is Héctor I. Benítez and he produces nice, fast-paced industrial with an EBM undertone. Very good for filling up the dancefloors almost anywhere in the world I suppose. Listen for example to what is in my opinion the best track of the album: 'Bis Repetita Placent'.

This CD-r in an edition of 100 on Deserted Factory is a 2006 re-release from six out of the seven tracks from their first self released CD-r (dated 2002). Sadly you can hear a little bit of dated sounds in the tracks because we all know that in the last few years a lot has happened on soft- and hardware to make music.

Between that first self released demo and this one on Deserted Factory, Rugitus Æternam released two more CD-r's on Eklegein Recordings who are also from Mexico. So now they made the jump to Japan ... Let's hope it is the start of a global breakthrough.

It's all not bad and it will definitly appeal to a larger audience, but except for some moments in a track or two it's also not really surprising. But then again, yours truly might not be the right person to give an unbiased opinion, being the spoilt brat that he is :-)
