Twelve full tracks and a small one are pressed into this compact disc. Twelve full tracks and a small one filled with noise, ambience, sound and, well, as you might have suspected, loops.
Flutwacht is Daniel C. Simon and he is active under a few names of which Flutwacht is the best known and most active. 'Heroinloops' is not even his most recent release anymore. After Steinklang released this one, already five (!!!) more have seen the light of day.
So is Flutwacht 'some kind of new Merzbow'? To be honest, I couldn't tell you yet. Productionwise maybe so, somewhere between 10 and 20 releases per year, so if he keeps on doing that, he will definitly have a huge discography in no-time.
But!
Musicwise you'll have to decide for yourself if this is your thing. In my personal collection there are 2 CD's by him and no doubt a couple more will follow. But even though noise and deep ambient sounds are my thing, I doubt I will become a collector. At moments it all sounds just a bit too 'hurried' or 'messy'.
Nevertheless, 'Heroinloops' is a very good album, and the title says all about Flutwacht what you need to know. Because he truly is a 'Hero in Loops'.
