Asianova - Magnamnemonicon

Substantia Innominata sub02

Asianova is the American duo Ure Thrall and Pamela Passmore collaborating with Bonnie McNairn and Jim Wilson from Voice of Eye. The unknown part of this release which was given the name Magnamnemonicon is the unknown inner self. Because of this, the 10", which is pink, red ant white marbled this time, has quite a strong emotional feel to it.

The 10" doesn't have 2 long tracks like the Daniel Menche or Noise-Maker's Fifes release. Instead of that there are six shorter tracks evenly distrubuted over the two sides. A good thing is that they still cover over 30 minutes of music (!!) which is quite a lot for a 10" but - for the freaks amongst you: don't worry - it still sounds very good.

Musically this release hangs in between experimental drones and ethnical ambient. Haunting soundeffects and eerie vocals carefully layered over a combination from drones, soundscapes and ambience.

This 10" is one which will apeal to fans of female vocals who are looking for a more ambient background, for example fans from ambient works from the Hybryds or maybe even Yasnaia's solo-work on World Serpent. But also if your collection holds O Yuki Conjugate or de 3" series by Amplexus this 10" is worth it.
