RYN - Whistle and I'll come to You

Drone Records DR-80

'Whistle and I'll come to you' is the first vinyl output for the British duo RYN. Only existing of manipulated field-recording this release draws your attention in the beauty that is nothing: The emptiness of existence. Modulating noise structures with minimal use of pad-like sounds form the basics, resulting in an attention-span which is only to be broken up with the clattering of metal. The ending is a bit too sudden, as you'ld wish it would go on for at least 10 more minutes ...

The reverse side of the 7" is way more noisey and at times creates an uneasy feeling. While the production is quite 'light' (maybe because of the use of field-recordings) you feel you miss something. No deep rumbling or bassy layers which the other releases in this batch of Drone releases definitly had. It's not a bad thing, definitly not! Maybe exactly THAT is the concept of this 7": "The emptiness of existence".

A release to play more often, as the sound and production is quite different then what we normally hear on Drone Records.

Deep purple marbled vinyl.
