Seetyca - The Lake

Drone Records

Two tracks entitled 'The Trees' and 'The Lake' are pressed on this beautiful green and black marbled vinyl. Stefan Knappe, the man behind Drone Records, exactly knows what he does on this 87th release in the series. From the most recent batch of releases, this release by the German Seetyca is the most soundscapish one.

Seemingly with the use of sounds produced by synths – but we all know I can be very, very wrong – the track 'The Trees' has classical-like movements over a dronish, somewhat paddish layer. The feel of the track however fits the title very well, because in no-time you visualise a dark forrest where you can't seem to find a way out.

The reverse side of this release opens atmospherically likewise, but has much more miniature movement in the sounds. The develop themselves like little waves on the surface of the lake and the radience of the sun (or the moon) in the water.

The cover is sprayed with black paint, the silouette of a bird left open on the backside and a picture of a (beautiful) tree attached to the front.
