Various Artists - Moral Hazard

Indie-ziert

Some musical styles can not be kept within boundaries. Rhythmic industrial for example has a definite American style and a European style. And way back you could always hear when a band was Japanese or European or American when it came to harsh noise. With Power Electronics however, it's always been kinda difficult.

"Moral Hazard" is a sampler with Industrial, Noise (albeit not too harsh) and Power Electronics from all over the world. And because of thise diverse background it is right away a very interesting release. It gives the listener a chance to overcome the location related prejudices he or she might have.

Power electronics is an incredibly dynamic genre within the noise scene. Which has a fun side-effect, being that most names were unknown to me until receiving this album. Offcourse I heard of Steel Hook Prosthesis, Radio Murmansk and the legendary Leiche Rustikal, but there are 13 more acts on here that don't even ring a bell. Of these new names especially the tracks "I am producing hate" by Cavum Oris and "Love Mule" by Jesus of Nazareth draw my attention in a positive way.

A small (and only) note of criticism: The artist / title print on the backside of this pressed (!) CD, packed in a slim DVD-box are close to unreadable ... A missed opportunity to make the product even better. But don't worry, the CD is a must for noise-heads and PE-peeps because it has some great new names to explore. Rivetheads and grufties better download some porn and go wank.
