Sound on Probation
Sound on Probation is a label by, with, from and featuring Laurent Perrier and his many monikers. After three releases around the millennium it became more and more active and since 2006 there is a continuous stream of gorgeous music and sounds coming our way.
"Time to get an overview from all available stuff" Laurent must have thought and this resulted in this CD promo featuring tracks from 8 former released albums and 2 upcoming releases on the label.
Five projects are featured on this CD: Zonk't (experimental technoid constructions), Cape Fear (industrial sounding, guitar driven electronica), Heal (experimental, jazzy, trippy ambient driven beats), Pylône (experimental glitch drones) and finally some works under his own name. On the one hand these are minimal beats (from an upcoming album) and classical influenced drone experimentations from the previously released 'As Far As' album.
So if you are a collector and you have all SoP releases, it's definitely fun to complete your collection, but in most cases this is a great begin to dive into the (master)mind of Mr. Perrier.
